The 2025 Tri-State tournament, held on June 12-13 at the Mount Washington Resort Golf Club in New Hampshire, featured women’s golf teams from Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. This annual event, now in it’s 72nd year, fosters camaraderie and competitive spirit among women golfers from the three states, celebrating both individual and team achievements.
Our team consisted of: Lin Culver, Kanika Gandhi, Kristin Mahoney, Jazz Bruce, Reggie Parker, Els Walker, Nancy Devaux, MJ Shomo, Ann O’Day, Cheri Campbell, Dana Cassidy, Ginny Chenoweth, Jen Farrington, Susan Rand, Jen Shaw, Trish Wade, Rhonda Colvard, Joanne Priestley, Jo Allsopp, Linda Jane Parson, Mary Beth Menduni, Josie Herrera, Dixie Mercier, Denise Barnard, Donna Mazut, Jayne Magnant, Cheryl Hoar, Patty Baroudi, Sis Capeless, Sandy Bingham and alternates, Tracy Webster and Ashley Bond.
The event is match play format, with Day One being alternate shot match play and Day 2 individual match play. The results were:
New Hampshire
- Day 1: 56
- Day 2: 84.5
- Total: 140.5
Maine
- Day 1: 39
- Day 2: 95.5
- Total: 134.5
Vermont
- Day 1: 40
- Day 2: 90
- Total: 130
Our Vermont team fought hard, braving 35 mph winds on Day 1 and the pressure of a tightly packed course on Day 2, but couldn’t beat the home state team of New Hampshire.
The team selection process takes many things into consideration, including performance in our other VSWGA major tournaments, so consider playing in those too. With three different handicap divisions, we need players of all ability. We hope everyone interested will apply to be part of next year’s team as we stage a comeback victory in Maine!
Sincerely,
Mary Jane Shomo, Nancy Devaux, Jen Farrington and the VSWGA Board
