Because of the distancing restrictions that will be in place due to COVID-19, we are making some changes to the State Day event registration and play.
How to Register Online: Tournament Management Software powered by Golf Genius is used to register for all VSWGA events. The player needs to complete a one-time registration in Golf Genius. Once registered, a player must update her information each year (ie. e-mail, address and member club), as needed.
Registration will OPEN TWO WEEKS prior to the Friday BEFORE the State Day.
Registration will CLOSE at 8:00 a.m. on the Friday BEFORE the State Day.
For example, if the event is on Tuesday June 30, registration will open on Friday June 12 and close on Friday June 26.
The tee Sheet will be created on the Friday morning before the event. The tee sheet goes to club, club rep, and players by Friday NOON. Tee Times will be every 15 minutes beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Payment: A payment of $10 per golfer is required to be paid through Golf Genius at registration time; $8 for VSWGA fee and $2 for Closest to the Pin. You may no longer pay with cash or check on the day of the event.
Closest to the Pin: This is no longer an optional payment; due to credit card processing fees, it is now mandatory.
Registering your team: You may register 1-4 players at a time. Note that if you register more than one person, you will need to pay for any extra person. For example, if you register a group of 4 you will need to pay $40 on your credit card.
New questions on the registration form: a. Will you be riding or walking? B. Are you a guest for “bring a friend”?
Paying for Course Green Fee and Cart Fee
Pay in the pro shop for your greens fees and cart fees the day of the event. Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your tee time, and wear a mask when in or near the pro shop. Plan to pay the course fee ($20 for an 18-hole course or $15 for a 9-hole course, plus tax, and cart fee with a credit card. Cash will not be accepted.
Reserving Carts: When carts are listed as limited for a State Day, you must call the Pro Shop of the host golf course to reserve a cart. If you cancel a State Day at any time, you must also call the Pro Shop to cancel the reservation of the cart.
Canceling: If you cancel your registration prior to Friday at 8:00 a.m. or if the event gets cancelled because of weather, you will receive a refund of $9 ($1 retained by VSWGA to pay credit card fees). If you cancel after Friday at 8:00 a.m. or don’t show up, you will not get a refund. If you cancel your spot in a State Day, you must also cancel your reserved cart.
