MEMBERSHIP STATS
It’s a new year – time to join VSWGA or renew your membership!
Plenty of Vermonters love the snow and colder temps; skiing, snowshoeing, winter walks. If you’re braving it out up here in the north country this winter, renewing your membership helps to remind us of those green fairways and beautiful summer golf days. Join the 191 people who have renewed since January 1. Visit VSWGA.org or Golf Genius to join the club and our wonderful community of women golfers!!
While you register, update your profile information, specifically club affiliation, handbook delivery method, handbook mailing address, and VT residency status. If you are in VT for the winter and that is where your handbook is going, please make sure that the “Handbook” fields in your profile are also filled in with your VT address.
If you have any changes to your profile that you are unable to update yourself, email us at vswgaquestions@gmail.org and we can help you.

ARE YOU CREATIVE?
Help us choose a great slogan for VSWGA! We’re working on a redesign of the VSWGA website and appreciated responses to the survey we sent out in January asking for your comments. It’s always helpful to hear from you to better understand what seems to be working and what needs improvement!
We also invited you to share your ideas for a new VSWGA slogan or tagline we can use on the website/stickers/handbook, etc. Enter your ideas in this doc by February 15 and we’ll give everyone a chance to vote on your favorites!
PACE OF PLAY
Have you read our tips to speed up Pace of Play? There may be suggestions there you haven’t thought of before. If you have ideas that are not on our list, send them along to vswgaquestions@gmail.com. Everyone can appreciate a good round of golf that moves along at a reasonable pace.
IT’S A DATE
Tri-States! We are excited about the opportunity to send a team to Tri-States in 2025 and play at the Mount Washington Golf Course at Bretton Woods. The dates for the Tri-States tournament are 6/12&13, 2025 (practice round on 6/11). Take note that playing on a Thursday and Friday is a slight shift from years past.
- Major dates
- Seniors – July 8&9, Champlain
- Amateur – Aug 4,5&6, Ekwanok
- Mid-Am – Sept TBD, Haystack
- Fall Awards Classic – Sep 16, Barre
As always, check our website for the most up-to-date information about our tournaments.
ARE YOU GOLFING IN JAN/FEB?
Are you somewhere warm golfing this winter? We all love hearing about and seeing pictures of our friends soaking up the rays on the courses in southern/western places. Text a picture to Meredith Parker (719.491.7740), our VSWGA Social Media maven, with info including names, course, etc. and she will post it on our VSWGA Facebook and Instagram pages.
Likewise, if you are golfing at a simulator to get through these cold, snowy VT days. Send us those pictures too and we will be sure to share your winter golf activities with the membership.
CONGRATS TO LILLIAN COLLINS!
The 2025 Vermont Golf Association Girl’s Junior Player of the Year, Lillian Collins
Lillian had an extremely consistent year on the 2024 Turner Piping & Refrigeration Vermont Junior Tour! She placed 1st in the Vermont Junior Tour event at Williston, 2nd in the Vermont Junior Tour event at Neshobe, and 3rd in the Vermont Junior Tour events at The Quechee Club and Vermont National. Additionally, Lillian was a semi-finalist in the 2024 Vermont Junior Tour Match-Play Championship and placed 3rd in the 2024 Vermont Junior Tour Stroke-Play Championship.
Congratulations Lillian (a VSWGA junior member–remember that juniors can join for free!)! So great to see all your hard work pay off and watch you come into your own as a golfer. Well done.
GOLF WEBSITE FOR WOMEN
Who doesn’t like to watch instructional videos and read articles specifically meant for women golfers. One of the most informational accounts that we have found is https://womensgolf.com/. There are hundreds of videos on the site (for free), videos developed by women for women. While this is not meant as an endorsement for the site, it’s an excellent resource for brushing up on your game.
