Vermont Women’s Amateur Championship – Day One Results
CHAMPLAIN COUNTRY CLUB

August 5-7, 2024

The Vermont Amateur Championship kicked off today at Champlain Country Club with 65 players and a soggy forecast. Fortunately, the weather wasn’t as poor as predicted – either way, it couldn’t dampen the high spirits of the ladies on the course. The Champlain ladies showed up in force – with 10 members playing in the event – and showed us some wonderful hospitality.

The golf was pretty amazing as well. After 18 holes, Lin Culver of Neshobe Golf Club leads the field by a sizable margin and with a course record score of 66 (5-under par). Well done, Lin!

However, there are a number of players that are getting geared up to make a run for the lead tomorrow. Hailey Katona of Green Mountain National and Tiffany Maurycy of Copley Country Club are tied for 2nd place with a score of 77. Following in 4th is Andrea Brown of Champlain Country Club with a 78. Tied for 5th with 79 are Carson Richards from Lakeside Golf Club and Kaylie Porter from The Golf Club at Equinox.

In Ninth place overall, Teegan Duffy of Rutland Country Club leads the Junior Division with a score of 82.

The Paquet Team Cup competition is about as close as it can get. After one round, Williston is in first place with a team score of 251 and Champlain is right on their heels with a team score of 253. Two teams are tied for third with a score of 261; Copley Country Club and Vermont National Country Club.

We’re looking forward to a big day tomorrow, with great weather, great golf shots and low scores!
