Show your appreciation to the host course!
The purpose of the VSWGA is to promote and encourage friendly competition, interest, and the development of female golfers throughout Vermont. In order to achieve this mission, it is imperative that we garner the support of golf clubs and courses throughout the state.
The VSWGA could not sponsor a State Day program or championship tournaments without the support of clubs and courses. State Day participants are reminded that when clubs host one of our events, it may inconvenience a club’s members, create extra work for staff, and cost additional money in order to accommodate our groups.
We expect players be mindful of the services provided for VSWGA events, and ask you to:
- Consider eating lunch at the club.
- Support the Pro Shop.
- Wear appropriate attire (i.e. no short shorts, collarless shirts or tank tops). Many courses have more specific dress codes and we ask that you abide by their rules.
- Follow the club’s instructions for driving carts and be sure not to drive near greens, tee boxes, or sensitive areas that may or may not be marked.
- Replace divots, fix ball marks, and rake bunkers.
Remember that we are guests and not all clubs have the same policies and procedures. Please respect each club’s individual policies. Be gracious and express your appreciation where appropriate. If you have a complaint, alert the the State Day Chair (see inside front cover of the VSWGA Handbook), and do not address club staff directly. Rude or disrespectful behavior demonstrated by any VSWGA member will not be tolerated and could lead to sanctions.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. The opportunity to play competitive golf at quality courses will continue in the future only if we, as a membership organization, treat each club with respect and appreciation.
