Round 2 Results – Round 3 Tee Sheet
It’s moving day at the Amateur and the morning dawned with a bit of fog over the southern mountains of Vermont. As it lifted, the Bennington Monument appeared in the distance to observe the start of Round 2 of the VSWGA Championship. What was witnessed on the course was an exciting mix of pars, birdies, and an occasional eagle, with a few women position themselves within striking distance for the final round tomorrow.
Hailey Katona of Bellows Falls Country Club held on to the lead by one stroke with solid play and a two-day total of 147 (70-77). However, the lowest score of the day, 72, was carded by two competitors who are both eager to contend for the trophy. Jojo Valente of Proctor-Pittsford Country Club sits in second place and one stroke off the lead with 148 (76-72). Morgan Lee of Ralph Myhre Golf Course eagled #16 today and finished tied for third place, six strokes back at 153 (81-72). Also tied for third is Tiffany Maurycy, who saw two birdies fall to produce her total of 153 (77-76).
The Juniors did not disappoint the crowds with their stellar play. Teegan Duffy of Rutland Country club holds 5th place overall with a two-day score of 154 (79-75) and Kaylie Porter of 802 Golf Academy is only two strokes behind her in 6th place overall at 156 (79-77).
