Kate Mitchell, Secretary
I have lived in Vermont my whole life, with my first two years spent in Chester Depot, prior to moving to Essex Junction. I graduated from Champlain College in 1985 where I played field hockey (fellow VSWGA golfer Susan Rand was my coach!) and majored in Business Management. Post college I lived in Essex Town for 24 years and then back to Essex Junction with my husband. We have two grown, married sons and a granddaughter that all live locally.
My father and brother started Vermont Systems, Inc. around the same time that I graduated from college. I joined a few months later and spent my entire working career at VSI until we sold in January 2020. During my tenure at VSI, we grew the business from 4 employees to approximately 90 at the time of our sale. I wore many hats, including head of finance, HR, and Admin and ultimately retiring as VP of HR & Admin.
I began golfing about 20 years ago and it quickly became a passion. I was a member of Burlington Country Club from 2015 to 2022. In 2023 I joined Kwiniaska Golf Club. I have made such great friends not only at those two clubs, but also at the many state days I have played.
After giving myself a few years post-retirement to enjoy way too much golf (yes there is such a thing!), I decided to apply for the VSWGA Board to give back to this great organization that does so much for so many women golfers. I am very excited for this opportunity and look forward to meeting many more fabulous women golfers in this new role.
