Vermont Junior Tour

The VGA Junior Tour includes five events for girls (and boys) in two age categories (10-14 and 15-18) from mid-June through the end of July. Participants must have a Handicap Index, which can be acquired free of charge through the VGA. Support is available from the VSWGA for girls needing financial assistance in order to be able to compete.

PGA Junior League

Several clubs in Vermont host summer youth golf programs taught by PGA professionals who are committed to creating fun and inclusive experiences for golfers. The PGA Junior League is open to girls and boys (17 and under) of all skill levels and abilities. Some clubs are open to non-members of the specific club, others require membership.

During PGA Junior League matches, teams play 9-hole matches in a two-person scramble format, allowing golfers to learn the game in a relaxed environment. Those with little to no experience with golf are encouraged to participate. These opportunities are intended to form a basis for learning the game, skill development and, most of all – fun!

Vermont Junior Amateur Championships

Vermont Juniors are eligible to play in both the VSWGA Amateur Championship and the VGA Junior Amateur.

The VSWGA Amateur is a three-day stroke play format (no cut) and in 2026 will be at Haystack Golf Course, August 4-6.  VSWGA Membership is free for Vermont Juniors. The top Junior finisher in the VSWGA Amateur, which is three days of stroke play, will be awarded the VSWGA Junior Amateur trophy and may also vie for the overall VSWGA Amateur title. *Juniors playing in the VSWGA Amateur must be Vermont residents.

A separate Junior Amateur match play tournament is hosted by the VGA. This tournament features two age divisions for both girls and boys: 10-14, and 15-18. This 2026 Vermont Junior Amateur will be held at Kwiniaska Golf Club, July 22-24. The format is 18 holes qualifying holes of stroke play on day one, which determines pairings for match play competition beginning on day two. All golfers in the VGA Junior Amateur match play event must have active Vermont Junior Tour Membership.

New England Junior Amateur

Vermont Junior girls have opportunity to be selected to one of five positions for girls available on the Vermont Junior Team. Selection to the team is based on points accumulated through summer-long competition in the Vermont Junior Tour. Those selected will represent Vermont in the New England Junior Amateur, sponsored by the New England Golf Association (NEGA). The 2026 tournament will be held August 16-18 at Crumpin-Fox Club in northwestern Massachusetts. NEGA provides both individual and team awards for this tournament.
