Andrea Brown Claims 2022 Vermont Women’s Senior Championship

The VSWGA Senior Championship concluded on July 12 in Bennington at Mt. Anthony Country Club, showcasing our talented and dedicated Vermont women golfers. Andrea Brown of Champlain Country Club fought to keep the lead and prevailed by two strokes to take her second consecutive Senior Championship title, shooting a second round score of 80 and posting a two-day total of 155. She was able to hold off 11-time Senior Champion, Reggie Parker of Ekwanok Country Club, who made a run for the trophy shooting a second round 79 and finishing with a two-day score of 157.
Reggie Parker won the Legend Division and Mary Jane Shomo held on to the Super Senior trophy for a second year, shooting a two-round score of 163.
The Net Division winner by a one stroke margin was Chris Johnson of St. Johnsbury Country Club with a two-day net score of 7-under par. Right at her heels was Delina Gilroy of Wiliston Golf Club shooting a two-day net score of 6-under par.
In the Pat Job Cup Team Competition, the ladies from Williston Golf Club won their second consecutive team title with a score of 439. In second place was Rutland Country Club with 447 and rounding out the top three was Champlain Country Club with a 453.
