VSWGA State Days are weekly one-day 18-hole stroke play events that bring members together for some friendly competition.
In 2020, we have 51 State Day events scheduled. Check the State Day Calendar for updates as due to the pandemic, early season state days have been rescheduled to August and September. There are 2-3 courses to choose from each Tuesday, with venues in northern, central and southern Vermont. We’ll end the season with a day of golf, food, and fun at our annual Fall Awards Classic at Lake Morey on September 22th.
Fees for State Days are paid by credit card when registering in Golf Genius. The VSWGA fee for all courses is $8.00 and the closest-to-the-pin contest (half the proceeds benefit Junior Golf) is $2.00. Players pay the pro shop, usually $20 to play 18-hole courses and $15 for 9-hole courses. Cart price and requirement will vary by course.
Players register for a state day by requesting a tee time using our on-line tournament management software.
Participants receive Award Points toward winning the Janet Lang Trophy. Clubs compete for the Mae Murray Jones Cup in three divisions. See Awards and Prizes for more information on state day points and awards.
