HAYSTACK GOLF COURSE
September 6-7, 2025
The VSWGA Mid-Amateur is always bittersweet. We love the tournament, but it’s always a reminder that summer is over and fall is on its way, especially in the mountains around Haystack Golf Course in Wilmington, where the leaves were starting to change. The (golf) tans will fade, but the memories will last forever. And boy, there were some great things to remember this weekend.
Carson Richards of Burlington Country Club held onto her Day 1 lead, shooting a 79 on Day 2 to become the 2025 VSWGA Mid-Amateur Champion! Her 36-hole total was 9-over par (157). This is Carson’s first Mid-Am win; an impressive achievement to add to her golf accomplishments.

The Runner-Up position was won by the 2024 Mid-Am Champion Lin Culver of Neshobe Golf Club. She shot an impressive 75 on Day 2, carding a 10-over, two-day total of 158. In third place, Tiffany Maurycy, a six time VSWGA Mid-Am champion from Killington Golf Course finished in third place with a two day total of 160. Amy Butcher from Lakeside Golf Club and Jeanne Morrissey from Williston Golf Club came in fourth and fifth place, both shooting a two-day total of 163.

In the Net Competition, Trish Wade of Crown Point Country Club carded a two-day total of 7-under par net to take 1st place. Wendy Drolette of Williston Golf Club was in hot pursuit and captured the 2nd place prize with a two day, 6-under par total. Third Place net was Nancy Kelly of Cedar Knoll Country Club shooting a two day, 6 under par net over both rounds.
The Margaret Dick Team Competition was once again won by the ladies of Williston. They are a strong (and large – there were 17 of them in the field!) group of women who put up a total of 465 over the two rounds. The Neshobe team came in Second Place with 488 total strokes over two rounds and Burlington came in with a two day total of 493.
