2025 VSWGA Amateur Championship:
Round 1 Results; Round 2 Tee Sheet

If you were at Ekwanok Country Club early this morning watching the glowing, smoky, orange ball of a sun come up over the 18th green, you were one of the lucky ones treated to a real show of Vermont beauty.
Round 1 of the Women’s Vermont Amateur included perfect weather, beautiful views, smiling faces, and many great golf shots.
The Tournament Division started play today and attempted to break the code of green reading. There were some great scores, with Julie Dale of Lakeside Golf Club leading the field shooting an 83. Second place, with an 85 is held by Trish Wade of Crown Point Country Club, and third place is a tie between three players who shot 87; Mary Jane Shomo of Rutland Country Club, Leslie Brodie of Ekwanok Country Club, and Jennifer Shaw of Dorset Field Club.
The Championship Division turned in some impressive scores today with returning Champion Hailey Katona of Green Mountain National leading the field with a 2-under round of 68. In second place is Carson Richards of Burlington Country Club shooting a 74. Third place is a tie at 77 between Tekla Fine-Lease of Ralph Myhre Golf Course and Lin Culver of Neshobe Golf Club. There are quite a few competitors looking to improve their Round 1 Scores and grab a piece of the lead. Stay tuned tomorrow to see what happens on moving day.
The Competition for the Junior Trophy is neck and neck. There is a tie for the lead between Namo Taulson of Cedar Knoll Country Club and Rylee Makay of Vermont National Country Club with each of them shooting 95. Stella Rakochy of Kwiniaska Golf Club and Lillian Collins of Lakeside Golf Club are looking to improve their positions on Day 2. Tomorrow’s round is going to be fun to watch!
The Paquet Team Cup has three teams within 4 shots of each other. In first place is Williston Golf Club with 248. Second place has a tie between Burlington Country Club and Neshobe Golf Club with 252. This competition will really heat up in the morning. Let’s see if Williston is able to take the cup home again this year.
