2024 VSWGA Mid-Amateur Championship – Round 1 Results
HAYSTACK GOLF CLUB
September 14-15, 2024
The Vermont Mid-Amateur Championship kicked off today at Haystack Golf Club with some of the best September weather we’ve ever experienced at a Championship.
For those of you reading this that aren’t at the event, Haystack is a hidden gem. A beautiful course with large rolling (and fast!) greens, and unbelievable views. It’s a par 74 that plays around 5400 yards and the general consensus is that we can’t wait to come back to play it again.
After 18 holes, there is a tie for the lead. Tiffany Maurycy of Copley Country Club and Jeanne Morrissey of Williston Golf Club each shot a 7-over 81. Third place is held by Marie Ayers of Cedar Knoll Country Club with an 8-over 82. There are four players tied for 4th place at 84; Wendy Drollette of Williston, Kristin Mahoney of Neshobe, Reggie Parker of Ekwanok and Lin Culver of Neshobe.
Tomorrow will be exciting as there are 17 players within 10 strokes of the lead.
The Margaret Dick Team Cup competition is currently being led by the Williston team (238) by a 13-stroke margin over Cedar Knoll Country Club (251). In third place is the Vermont National Team (266).
We’re looking forward to another BVD (Beautiful Vermont Day) tomorrow, with great weather, great golf shots and a number of ladies taking a run at the trophy!
