Parker wins 11th Senior Women’s Golf Title
Reggie Parker of Ekwanok Country Club continued her dominance among Vermont’s senior women golfers, shooting a 2-day total 157 to win her fourth straight and 11th overall title in the VSWGA championshipheld July 11-12 at the Dorset Field Club. Parker took a 3-shot lead after the first day of competition and increased that lead on the second day, besting runner-up Jeanne Morrissey of Williston Golf Club who shot 162.
Maureen Quinn of Lake St. Catherine CC came in at 167, with Nancy Devaux of West Bolton GC and Dana Cassidy of Vermont National CC right behind, both shooting 169.
The Super Senior trophy (ages 65-69) was awarded to Maureen Quinn. The Dorset players did very well, with the Legend trophy (ages 70 and over) going to Nancy Kendall, and the low net score award to Diane Spence. The host club also won the Pat Job Cup team competition.
The VSWGA Ruth Raymond Jones Memorial Seniors’ Championship is open to women 55 years of age and over, and is always a popular event on the Vermont golf calendar. Eighty golfers competed this year.
