Holly Reynolds Wins Third Mid-Am Championship

Holly Reynolds of Copley Country Club shot a 2-day total 156 to win her third Vermont Women’s Mid-Amateur golf championship at Brattleboro Country Club over the weekend. Holly captured her first Mid-Am in 2010 and her second in 2014.

Runner-up was Kristin Mahoney of Rutland CC, who made a charge on the final day, finishing two strokes behind the leader and edging out Jeanne Morrissey in a match of cards.

Angie Lacroix of the Country Club of Barre was the low net winner with 136.

Scores were tight in the 68-player field, and many of the places were calculated using the match of cards method. All ties were awarded.

Williston won the team competition and Margaret Dick Cup with a two-day total 469 (2-low gross scores plus 1-low net score each day). Rutland came in 2nd with 480, and Brattleboro was 3rd with 484.

Last year’s Mid-Amateur champion, Tiffany Maurycy of Orleans CC, did not defend her title, as she is competing in the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship (September 10-15) at the Kahkwa Club in Erie, Pennsylvania. Tiffany shot 82-78 on the first two days, advancing her to the match place portion of the competition on day three. Follow her at www.usga.org
