Ann Waters

Ann Waters left us too soon - twice.  She left Manchester Country Club and Vermont golf the late 1990’s to live full-time in Albany, NY where she worked.  And, on January 23, she passed away suddenly in Albany.

Ann was an excellent golfer and was very active in Manchester and VSWGA events.  She served as the VSWGA president in 1986-1987.  In 1987, she started the Sarah Hunter Invitational at Manchester in memory of her friend Sarah, the golf pro at Manchester, who was brutally murdered in 1986.  Many of us will remember the spirited calcuttas that she ran during the Sarah Hunter banquet.

In 1995, she was a member of the Vermont team at the first USGA State Team Tournament in Orlando, Florida.

Those of us who were around when she was playing golf in Vermont will always remember her. Those of us who are newer to Vermont golf have missed out on knowing someone special.
