Dot Cleary

Dot Cleary passed away on January 9, 2015 in Brooksville, Florida at the age of 74.  Until recently, she spent her summers in Vermont and was a member of Mt. Anthony CC.  She was a avid and excellent golfer who participated in many VSWGA events, especially the Ruth Raymond Jones Memorial Seniors’ Championship.

She finished in the top 10 in the Seniors four times between 2007 and 2012.  She won the Super Senior trophy in 2007 at Haystack and the Legend trophy in 2010 at Rutland and 2012 at Manchester.

Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Cleary, 74 of Brooksville, FL peacefully passed away January 9, 2015. She was born March 2, 1940 in Bridgeport, CT. She resided in Stratford, CT. After her retirement from Baron Consulting Co., of Milford, CT. she then moved to Springhill, FL in 2005 before making her residence permanent in 2012 in the Brookridge County Club Community.

Dottie was an avid, avid golfer; winning and competing in numerous women's golf tournaments in VT, CT, and FL. She spent her summers in Vermont golfing, and taught her family many life lessons. She had a passion for her children, grandchildren, and her holiday decorating (which drove her husband crazy). She will always be remembered for her strong, independent, tell it like it is philosophy. On the creative side; Dottie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, baking and shopping.

She is survived by her loving husband, John (Jay) Cleary; sons, John Cleary Jr. and his wife Carmela, Scott Cleary and his wife Trish all of CT; daughter, Kristine Jankowski and her husband Joseph W. of Ohio; sister, Linda Jane Parson of Woodford, VT & Ruskin FL; brother, Donald Parson of Brooksville,FL; grandchildren, Leah Cleary, Zachary, Shane, Spencer and Michael Cleary all of CT, and Joseph J. Jankowski of OH; numerous nieces, nephews, loved ones and many lifelong friends. She will be remembered as a great wife, mom, sister, grandmother, and legend golfer who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
