Reggie Parker Wins Seniors’

To no one's surprise, Reggie Parker of Ekwanok won her sixth Seniors' championship by a wide margin of twelve strokes.  Reggie added a 78 to her opening one-over-par 73 for a 151 total and was the only person in the field to break 80 for either day.  Reggie has won the championship each time she has entered in 2004, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011,  and now 2012.  Reggie was also the winner of the Super Senior trophy.

Kathy Allbright of Green Mountain National was the runner-up firing two very consistent rounds of 81 and 82 for a 163 total.  Kathy won the championship at Enosburg Falls Country Club in 2006.  Susie Bremner of Rocky Ridge, Mary Jane Shomo of Rutland, and Margie Kaat of Ekwanok were tied for third place at 164.  Trish Wade of Green Mountain National finished in sixth place, one stroke back at 165.  Dot Cleary of Mt. Anthony finished in seventh place at 166 and was also the Legend winner.  Elizabeth Walker of Brattleboro and Maureen Quinn of Lake St. Catherine were tied for eighth place at 168.  Rhonda Colvard of Burlington rounded out the top ten at 169.

Ruby Gorham of St. Johnsbury was the low net winner with a net total of 135, just one stroke better than Cindy Meyer of Brattleboro.  Maureen Quinn won the putting contest on Wednesday with just 26 putts.  Rutland Country Club and Brattleboro Country Club tied for the Pat Job Cup with 445 points each.

Manchester Country Club was a wonderful venue for the championship and was in beautiful condition.  Manchester will host the State Amateur Championship next year.  Orleans Country Club will host next year's Seniors' Championship.
