Holly Reynolds Wins Sixth State Amateur

Holly Reynolds of Copley fired a final round of 74 today to win her sixth Vermont State Amateur title and her first since regaining her amateur status.  Holly's sixth win ties the record set by Mae Murray Jones in 1952 and tied by Cindy Paquet in 1985.

Holly's three day total was 221, five strokes better than runner-up Catherine Shomo of Rutland who shot a 77 today for a total of 226.  Lindsay Cone of Rutland was third at 229 followed by Keely Levins of Rutland at 235.  5th place went to Kim Wong of Barre with a total of 239.  Reggie Parker of Ekwanok was 6th at 240 followed by Kristin Mahoney of Rutland at 242.  Madison Corley of the Links at Lang Farm was 8th at 243 and also won the Junior Championship.  Andrea Brown of Champlain was 9th at 247 and Kim Levins of Proctor-Pittsford was 10th at 248. 

Ellen Sheffer of the host Neshobe club was the low net winner at 214 followed by VSWGA President Tracy Sloan at 215.   Third net went to Donna Mazut of Vermont National followed by Diane Izzo of Neshobe in 4th, Amy Gregory of Burlington in 5th.  There was a four-way tie for 6th net which included Patty McGrath of Green Mountain, Doris Wildes of the Country Club of Vermont, Heather Shouldice of Neshobe, and Mary Brush of Burlington.  Edith Hiller of Rutland was 10th net.

The Buxton Cup went to the Team from Rutland.
