Reggie Parker Wins Mid-Am

Reggie Parker of Ekwanok overcame a two-stroke deficit by firing a 75 in the final round of the 2006 Mid-Amateur Championship at Crown Point Country Club to win by 7 strokes over Elizabeth Walker of Brattleboro and Tiffany Maurycy of Williston.  After Saturday's round Liz was in the lead with a 77 followed four people with 79's including Reggie and Tiffany, defending champion Andrea Brown of Williston, and Patti Haas of Killington.  Tiffany and Liz had steady rounds of 82 and 84 respectively but could not keep pace with Reggie.

This win gives Reggie a clean sweep of VSWGA events held at Crown Point starting with the Seniors' in 2004.  In the following year she won both the Match Play Championship and the State Amateur Championship and this year she won the Mid-Am which is the final event in the Crown Point series.

The net trophy went to Stephanie Vanema of Montpelier who won the title in an exciting playoff with Crown Point's Erika Politano.  Stephanie prevailed for the net trophy but Erika ended with the 10th gross award.

Once again the strong Williston contingent secured the Margaret Dick Cup with a total of 465.  The host Crown Point club was second at 480 followed by Brattleboro at 490.
